Marquee Audio appointed UK Reseller for Stardraw
Software providers Stardraw.com are delighted to announce the appointment of
pro audio sales and systems specialists, Marquee Audio, as UK reseller for the
entire range of Stardraw's design and documentation software packages.
Both parties regard the new partnership as an extremely positive move. “We
have been Stardraw users ourselves for years and we love the product,” said
Marquee's Andy Huffer, “so it seemed only logical to be able to pass on the
benefits to our own customers. Furthermore, as a forward-thinking company whose
products are constantly evolving and developing, Stardraw's profile complements
our own modus operandi perfectly.”
Stardraw marketing director Rob Robinson agrees. “Marquee Audio is one of the
most respected and successful names in the business for professional audio sales
and systems integration in the UK, and is thus the ideal partner for Stardraw.
In addition to this, they have been Stardraw users for years and are genuine
advocates for the product, and so are perfectly placed to act as resellers for
the entire range. We are both looking forward to a mutually beneficial partnership.”
Net CAD goes live at NSCA
VTG Audio selected NSCA to go live with their new application Net CAD, commissioned
from software providers, Stardraw.com. Based on the Stardraw.net engine, Net CAD is a web
service that allows users to design, configure and order custom connection and control panels.
The application will be delivered through the websites of daughter companies Horizon Music
and Rapco, two of the largest suppliers of cables, connectors, custom panels and metalwork
in the US with outlets in the UK and Europe.
Based on Stardraw.net, the new service is delivered by a web server and works from within
a browser so there is nothing to download or install in the conventional sense. It comprises
a drag-and-drop interface linked to a complete library of all of Rapco's and Horizon Music's
panel products so the user simply selects the panel he or she wants, drags on the connectors
that are needed, and sets engraving, finishes, artwork and so on. The resultant design is
linked in realtime via XML to sophisticated backoffice systems. Once the design is complete,
a separate pop-up report delivers an instant quote. Furthermore, this system can support
highly complex pricing models, e.g. setup charges, product charges, variable charges (such
as engraving by character) and, most importantly, pricing by user profile; discounts may be
set based on who the user is and the type of account he has.
The benefits of this technology are clear. Customers can design, price and order custom
panels in seconds, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week without having to wait for any
third party input. From the user's point of view, all the guesswork is taken out of the process,
which improves efficiency enormously. According to Stardraw.com's CEO David Snipp, this is
undoubtedly the way of the future. “Many people are talking about web services right now, but
few really understand their potential, and even fewer have delivered useful, working systems.
Stardraw.net changes all that because it is a fully customizable platform that can integrate
with any other system via XML. Integration of information is the key to delivering tools that
add real value and Net CAD, powered by Stardraw.net, is another great example of how we have
created an elegant, efficient and cost effective solution for a forward-thinking client."
Net CAD can be accessed by registered dealers at the Horizon Music and Rapco websites
Full technical data from Audio-Technica
Audio-Technica has become the latest manufacturer to take advantage of Stardraw Weblink to
offer their customers access to the full complement of technical data on their current product
range. Stardraw Weblink is a web service that allows linkage of product symbols used in
Stardraw design and documentation software to any online data. Audio-Technica has used
the service to embed URLs for the product profile pages on Audio-Technica's website along
with spec sheet PDFs, submittal sheets, associated literature and accessories available
for all products.
Audio-Technica's Steve Savanyu is pleased with the flexibility offered by the Weblink
service both for manufacturer and client. "I took advantage of of the multiple link
capabilities offered by Weblink to link each of our wireless systems to the appropriate
accessory web pages along with the PDF locations for the systems manuals. I see Weblink
as a valuable tool to help the designer as he now has all of the important information
regarding these products at his fingertips, just a click away."
Savanyu has also added a step to Audio-Technica's product development process to ensure
that their product symbols within Stardraw are always kept up to date. "The development
process now includes the question,'Is a Stardraw symbol required ?' If yes, we automatically
generate the files needed for Stardraw. At the time of the product's release, the files
are then sent to Stardraw – this way we ensure that all our users have access to the most
up-to-date information available."
