Feature per Month program
This month's new feature is the Enhanced Library List: with a new look,
and intuitive drag and drop capabilities it's even easier to add your own symbols and
structure library folders.

To create a new symbol - in any drawing simply select the objects which will make
up the new symbol, then drag them into the folder in the Library List where you want the symbol
to be shown. Holding the cursor over a folder for one second will
expand the folder, allowing you to place the symbol into any folder,
even if it has not previously been opened.
To name the new symbol - when you drop the new symbol it will be given a default
name, e.g. "Symbol 1". Type in the name you want - that's all there is to it!
If you want to rename the symbol just rightclick on it and select "Rename"
from the shortcut menu.

To delete user symbols - if you no longer need one of the symbols you've created
you can remove it from the Library List if you rightclick and select "Delete".

User icons
Identifying your symbols - the Enhanced Library List now has icons for folders and symbols.
Symbols supplied by Stardraw use the standard product icon. User symbols
display a user icon so it's easy to spot the symbols you've created.
Working with user folders - right click on a folder and select "New Folder" to create your
own user folder. Empty user folders can be deleted and renamed, but you cannot delete a user folder
that contains either symbols or subfolders.
A word about origins - the "origin" is a symbol's insertion point, i.e. the point which
sits on your cursor when you drag a symbol from the Library List into a drawing. When you create a
new symbol by dragging a selection into the Library List, its origin is set on the grid point closest
to the cursor when you began dragging. To make your new symbols behave like Stardraw symbols you
should pick up and drag the selection as follows:
- for a Block Schematic symbol - halfway up the left side of the outline
- for a Panel Layout symbol - the centre of the selection
- for a Pictorial Schematic symbol - halfway up the left side of the outline
- for a Rack Layout symbol - bottom left corner (for a rackmounted symbol)
