October 2002 - Stardraw and ProSoundWeb announce partnership

Following the development of Stardraw.net, software provider Stardraw.com has announced a partnership with ProSoundWeb, the leading online community for the professional audio industry.

 

Stardraw.net was revealed at the recent PLASA show in the UK, and claims to be the worlds' first web-based CAD application.  Unlike conventional software, Stardraw.net is accessed using your Internet browser via a web-page.  There is nothing to install in the conventional way (for instance from a CD), instead tools and symbols are downloaded from a server as required, automatically.  The technology has been designed so that it works quickly and efficiently even over a slow dial-up connection, and the application draws on a library of over 35,000 symbols of manufacturers' products stored on a central web-server.

 

Stardraw.net from ProSoundWeb is a customized implementation of Stardraw.net, designed for the pro-audio community and available through ProSoundWeb.  It uses a subset of the full Stardraw.net tool- and symbol-set and is presented as a low-cost entry-level CAD application for sound system design; the subscription fee is less than $30 per month.

 

Stardraw.net from ProSoundWeb goes live from the middle of October, less than a month from the date on which a partnership agreement was reached between these two industry leaders.  Managing Director David Snipp comments, “Not only is the technology behind Stardraw.net truly unique, but this implementation highlights something that has been key to its development and architecture; namely that corporate clients can deliver a fully customized online software tool, faster and more cost effectively than anyone could reasonably expect.  Before now, that is.”  He continued “I'm very excited”.
